August 23, 2007. Around a six mile hike rountrip. Started at the top of Vail Pass on Hwy 70. There is a trailhead on the north side of the exit. The first 2 miles are a very mild hike with moderate elevation gain. Then the last 1/2 mile has alot of vertical to get to the ridge. The view is beautiul. If you wanted you could travel the ridge to the east and drop down into Copper Mountain, or you could drop down the north east side of the ridge and go down to Officers Gulch. This would be about a 7 to 8 mile hike one way from Vail Pass to Officers Gulch. I would give an entire day.
